Lake St. Clair Metropark
This 1,000 foot-long sandy beach is the best known and most used of all the beaches on Lake St. Clair. On any given day you will find families, couples and friends enjoying this summer haven. Yoga enthusiasts can enjoy beach front sessions twice weekly beginning June 8th – Saturdays and Tuesday at 8am. Advanced registration is required, contact Tom King the instructor at 586-709-0618. New Baltimore
The beach at Walter and Mary Burke Park in Downtown New Baltimore is a great place for the kids to frolic in the sand or to get some sun while enjoying stunning views of Anchor Bay. While the swimming beach is relatively small the adjacent park provides all the amenities perfect for a summer bbq, family gathering or ideal setting to enjoy a good book. Visitors will find picnic facilites, playscapes, fishing pier, volleyball and tether ball and boardwalk. Official park hours are 10am to 8pm. Lifeguards are on duty. Belle Isle
Belle Isle is home to a half-mile long swimming beach that provides a great escape on hot summer days. Located on the west side of the island this beach provides a safe swimming area away from the currents of the Detroit River. The beach is well manicured with clear water and sandy bottom. Nice shade trees and grass the border the beach and provide a nice have from the sun or an ideal spot for a picnic. The beach can get crowded weekends so come early to get a good spot. The beach also has an adjacent pool and water slides that open in June. Tickets to the pool an water slide are $3. Just a note: no dogs allowed directly on the beach, lifeguards are on duty from the second week in June through labor day. More
Sandpoint Beach and Stop 26
Sandpoint Beach is without a doubt, Windsor’s most popular and family friendly, beach destination. It is located in the City’s far East side on Riverside Dr. East and Florence Ave. The Beach lies at the South West mouth of Lake St. Clair, and the best part of it all… it is totally FREE to those who wish to spend time there! “The Beach” is officially opened around the Victoria Day Weekend in the month of May, thru the Labour Day Weekend in the month of September. This time frame also sees the Beach as being attended by Life-Guards between the hours of 1:00PM and 7:00PM daily. More
